Sometimes I ask myself what leads to Monday Blues? Basically its just the dread of going to work again at the very start of the week! And if you had an uneventful weekend, that basically adds up.
Saturday was pretty ok. Had a fusion lunch at East Coast Road, Cafe Oliv. Basically an undiscovered cafe. We were the only customers at the start of lunch at 12.30pm. Imagine lunch time and only us? Anyway we ordered the following and shared their Soup of the day , Mushroom soup... Just the right touch of creaminess and tasty. Softshell shell crab was all right only, nothing spectecular, I guess i am really over that soft shell crab phase, these days they do not give me that wow or oomph factor anymore? Ceaser Salad with chicken was good, just the right amount of dressing so you don't feel too gelat after that. The creamy seafood linguine pasta was ok, pasta done al dente but did not really like that mussel, had a strong taste to it, rest of the seafood was pretty fresh. Pretty dissapointed that they did not have any brownie with ice cream dessert! Had the creme brulee, but that did not satisfy my brownie craving so to top it off, ordered a macadamia nut latte which to my surprise was pretty good!
After lunch, went to parkway to get a bottle of wine for Alex's birthday. Met them at one of the boat quay pub for a couple of drinks before all of us headed for Lunar at Clarke Quay. 9 of us and 2 bottles later, haha you go figure the consequences. Birthday boy Alex was definitely down, with the help of a Waterfall if thats what its called. I reached home and KO till about lunch time. Did not have much appetite after all that excessive drinks. Just wanted water, water and more water for my poor dehydrated body. Went to watch the Incredible hulk in the afternoon. I found it to be pretty good movie. One thing that touched me was that the hulk had incredibly Sad Eyes. Made my eyes water, strange.....
After that headed to Prima for Father's Day Dinner. Other than the view, food was medicore. I wouldn't recommend returning. The set dinner for 4 cost 268+++.... Let me briefly describe the dishes, the Shark's fin was not much of a shark's fine. Less than 10 strands!!!! Broccoli with 5 small slices of abalone? hmmm..... Steam Soon Hock fish was very fresh, tender, melts in your mouth type no complains about this. Big Dissapointment was the Peking Duck. The original wrapping they recommended, skin was super thick. Duck skin not crispy enough, and full of fats! GROSS!!! I had one piece and that was it for me! Did not touch the duck meat as quite lost my appetitie already. Toffee banana dessert very sweet, it is banana coated with caramel like sugar, soaked in ice water to be eaten immediate. Very full but not Satisfying dinner.
